Rugby League Writers and Broadcasters Association join Parliamentary Rugby League Group
The Parliamentary Rugby League Group has welcomed the Rugby League Writers and Broadcasters Association as an Associate Member.
The RLWBA is the trade association for journalists reporting the sport of rugby league. It has circa 120 members based across the United Kingdom covering the sport for various media outlets.
It joins a range of organisations, clubs and individuals as Associate Members who each agree to the Group’s constitution and singular remit to “support the game of rugby league football.” Associate Members are welcomed at Group meetings in the Palace of Westminster, held monthly while Parliament is sitting, as well as the Group’s annual dinner, to be held in November this year.
Welcoming the association was Group Chairman and Leeds North West MP Greg Mulholland. He said “I’m very happy that RLWBA has joined the Parliamentary Rugby League Group as an Associate Member. I look forward to hearing the RLWBA’s thoughts on how to develop the game, and working closely with them to ensure that rugby league receives the coverage that it deserves across a range of media.”
Secretary of the RLWBA, Peter Wilson, commented “we are delighted to join the Parliamentary Rugby League Group. Over the last 26 years the Group has played a vital role in supporting the game, and has campaigned on a range of issues related to coverage of rugby league in the media. I hope that the RLWBA can contribute to this excellent work as an Associate Member.”
