Oak Underwriting plc (part of RSA Insurance) Supports Parliamentary Rugby League Group Annual Dinner
The 2015 All-Party Parliamentary Rugby League Group annual dinner will take place on Monday 16 November in the House of Lords, supported by Oak Underwriting plc, the Private Client division of RSA Insurance, and the RFL.
The dinner has moved from its traditional January slot and is the first time an organisation outside the sport has been involved in supporting event.
RSA Insurance, a firm with a 300-year heritage, is one of the world’s leading multinational quoted insurance groups and has the ability to underwrite businesses in over 140 countries. Managing Director of RSA Insurance’s private clients division is Leeds Rhinos fan Mark Coffey. He said “Oak Underwriting plc, part of RSA Insurance, is proud to support the All-Party Parliamentary Rugby League Group in this way. I know the Group is one of the most active of its kind, and has done an excellent job in campaigning tirelessly for rugby league over 26 years. We are very much looking forward to being a part of the Group and to the dinner itself.”
The announcement was made by the Group’s Chairman, Leeds North West MP Greg Mulholland. He commented: “the All-Party Parliamentary Rugby League Group welcomes RSA Insurance as its main supporter for our 2015 annual dinner. The dinner is an excellent opportunity to celebrate rugby league, and to recognise the outstanding contributions that individuals have made. We continue to develop the work of the Group and how it engages with people from outside Parliament, the Group is therefore grateful to Oak Underwriting plc and the RFL for their support.”
The All-Party Parliamentary Groups does not receive public funding and is reliant on support from organisations and individuals to continue its work. It has been growing over recent years and is very active in voicing the concerns of fans to Westminster, Whitehall and beyond.
